As soon as I found out I was expecting, I hit up the Pinterest boards (I am a Pinterest addict). I searched pregnancy, mommy tips, photo shoot ideas, and of course, gender reveal parties! Gender reveal parties were a relatively new concept at that time. Most of the reveals that I had seen had pink and blue decor with the standard, "he or she, what will it be?" theme. After searching and thinking, we finally decided the theme of the party- "Beau or Bow?"
We made bows and mustaches for the guests to pin to their shirts to display their guess! I had to hand draw all of the mustaches on black cardstock paper. Of course, right after the party there were mustaches in stores everywhere!
The chevron paper is from Hobby Lobby (one of my favorite stores!)
My mom and I wearing our guesses. I didn't want to show bias, so I wore both!
The name suggestions were pretty funny! I'm glad I have them as a keepsake. I don't think anyone suggested our name. We went with Brody!
This isn't the best pic of the banner, but it was really cute!
This is my cute cousin and her mustache straw!
.....and finally
....time for the big reveal!
We wanted to do a little something different than the cutting of the cake or balloon release for the reveal. I had came across the idea of shooting confetti in either pink or blue! I searched online and found some sites that made the confetti cannons, but I wasn't willing to pay the price.
Enter DIY brain!!!
I ended up going to Party City and buying large confetti cannons that had the regular, multi-colored confetti in them. I simply pulled off the top piece of the cannon and dumped out the confetti, making sure I didn't twist the bottom to fire the cannon. Then, I cut up pink and blue streamers and filled the cannons back up. I taped the top piece back on and... Voila! It was so easy and only costed a couple of dollars.
It's a boy!!!!!

Love it!
ReplyDeleteFantabulous! I must say these ideas and preparations are out of the world. Will definitely copy some of them for my friend's baby shower eve next month. Looking for various event space Atlanta online and theme for the party will be blue plus white. Quality caterers and bakers are tried and tested in many occasions.
